Identical - IF

I created this digital collage for the Illustration Friday challenge - Identical.
I used the watercolour paintings and paper collages below.
The girls head was made from a tag.

The flower petals below were made from a pattern in a magazine.

Faces and Potato Heads

watercolours

On my last birthday I received a potato head card which included sticky backed features that you could choose and place on the card where you liked. There was a surplus of  bits which I have used on my own potato head shapes for these pictures. I like the wild woman the most.

The picture and creatures below were created from the shapes left after the stickers were removed.

TAST 35 Embroidery

Take a stitch Tuesday - sheaf stitch
I've made another little patchwork ATC for this stitch and used some vintage and some newer fabrics, dyed lace and beads.

Sheaf stitch was used on part of a bigger ongoing picture below. The stitches were done irregularly so they look like flower heads ... well if you use your imagination a little [lol]

Mushrooms [CO]

I created this collage of mushrooms and fairy for the Collage Obsession challenge - mushrooms.
All the images are from The Graphics Fairy

A few years ago I bought some wooden mushrooms for the kiddy [me] but I didn't like how they looked so I painted them.

And I thought I would share this mushroom with you again, it was in my garden in 2010 but that was the only time I have ever seen them [there were 2]. The fairy is still hanging around somewhere though.

Clockwork [TAW], Art Buttons, Pendant

Take a Word - Clockwork
The clock, hands, clock hands and woman on the clock are images from The Graphics Fairy.
The background is an old one, but my own work, which was inspired by board games.

I've put another couple of items in my Folksy shop, but I'm wondering if I should put the rest in Etsy or Misi as I'm finding Folksy so s...l...o.....w, does anyone else have a problem with it?
I have put in some Art Buttons, these are some of the actual buttons that were featured in Cloth Paper Scissors magazine. The card was another image from Graphics Fairy which I altered especially for the buttons.
Also another mini pendant with a hand embroidered flower, mainly French knots

and on the other side is a miniature stitch sampler

Inktense Blocks

I bought myself a new 'toy', a tin of inktense blocks - they are inks in a block. You can use them dry or with water, below shows the colours both dry and wet.

I did a few quick, very quick sketches in my sketchbook.

Then I thought I would try them on fabric. I used my gel printing plate, but on the first experiment the ink was to dry to transfer to the fabric. When I applied water to the plate then drew in it with a block, it worked just fine....but I was quick.

The tortoise was a freehand drawing directly onto the fabric.

I wasn't sure about washing, so I rinsed out a sample and the inks stayed put, so it looks like they will be good for fabrics. They have inspired me to start a bigger project......

Featured,TAST 34, Jewellery

Yeh! This week my blog has been featured in the Best of the Web, a weekly series on the Craft Corners blog. Check it out here.

Take a stitch Tuesday - the stitch this week is linked double chain, a new stitch to me. I've stitched on a crazy quilted ATC again this week, more vintage fabrics. I've also included some other embroidery stitches and beads.

It has been a while but I have decided to add items to my Folksy shop again, gradually.
So far there is a pendant and a brooch but I will be adding more items soon.

Mixed Media Sketches

I applied a texture transfer to these two pages first and I could 'see' people in the shapes so that is what I drew.
Her hat [below] is a real flower and there are a couple more flowers on the bottom left.

Easy Apron

I made an apron out of a tea towel and two metres of tape. Just cut off the two top corners, fold over the edge twice and stitch in place. Sew on some tape at the top to go around your neck and two at the sides to tie around you.
My butterfly tea towel was from All Tea Towels.
The picture below shows the two pieces I cut off the tea towel.
