The last of the photos from Scalby
This is the Grand Hotel in Scarborough, we weren't sure if it was open because some of it looked boarded up and looked a bit run down. Actually it was a door on the second floor that was boarded up, probably so people don't fall out of it. The hotel is still open.
The chairs were all stacked, we'd just been sheltering from a storm, rain and hailstones.
The remaining photos were taken in the lovely house we were staying in, in Scalby.
For Flower of the Week is a lily, part of the bunch of flowers I got for my birthday. I should have taken a photo when I first got them showing the roses too but I forgot.
I'll not be posting next week. Enjoy yourselves until next time.

ReplyDeleteI haven't been to the UK in some years now, and it is always interesting to see new interior decoration trends.
ReplyDeleteThat wingbacked armchair, is it a swivel chair? Can you turn it round to see the view from the window?
That wallpaper with a bookcase and a small window is so different from William Morris.
I hope you will have a wonderful time next week.
Queenie
Well spotted, it is a swivel chair and we all wanted to sit in it.

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I love the paintings. The decorations of the house are really different. The books wrapped like that is interesting.
