Angelina Fibres

I found some Angelina [heat bondable fibres] in a drawer which I've had for years so I thought I would use it.  I layered it and trapped some sheer fabric in between and after melting it I cut it into four and turned two sides over. It looked like a different fabric on the other side, a different colour as you can see. I up-cycled a shisha mirror with a stitched surround from some fabric I had then applied all to a background fabric with running stitches.

Butterflowers and WIP

I drew the flowers and butterfly on fabric with a pen, painted them, cut them out and stuck them to a re purposed  hankie. Then I enhanced with running stitches - thread not drawn on.

I think this one looks better in real life.

I'm working on a bigger piece, bet you can tell what it is.

Flowers and Lace

The flower heads were upcycled from an old top. I've added various lace lengths and embroidery on a layered background. The embroidery includes running stitch, fancy hem stitch and lock stitch.

Sardinia

I've just come back from a lovely holiday in Sardinia.

Above is a photo of cork trees.

We visited a museum one day when it was raining and saw this rack of shoe forms and this unusual picture frame below.

On the day we were coming home I was up earlier and caught the sun rising.

You may remember seeing most of these dolls before except the wee folk girl in the red jumper.

The photos however have not been posted before, I thought they looked cute posing together. 

The girl is rather untidy and the face is not good....again

Flower and Mushroom Applique

Painted with Koh-I-Noor watercolour paints on fabric, the paints are very vibrant. Layers including a piece of vintage tablecloth.  The pieces were hand sewn into place with running stitch.

Puffin

I painted canvas fabric with acrylic paints, then enhanced the painting with freehand machine embroidery. [the black thin lines]
