I did this batik last year and have been hand quilting it on and off since. The circular marks were made by dipping a kitchen whisk into the wax, and I also used a stick and paint brush. Then I painted it with fabric and silk paints. I'm thinking it could become a book cover.
Wow, this is really beautiful! That is one thing I am going to do before I die. Make a quilt to die for. Just for me. Because I know that when I make one, it is going to take forever and I will very unlikely get to another for someone else.
