I've had a piece of upholstery fabric in a drawer for years and I thought it was time I did something with it so I've made three bags all slightly different.
I used small pieces of velvet ribbon to hold the straps in place on the top one.
I turned the corner piece to the outside as a design feature instead of to the inside [and cutting off] and stitched on buttons with cross stitch to keep in place.
This upholstery fabric would be somewhat dominating on a three piece sofa set. Much better to make stylish bags. I like the design featured corner, too.
