Another endangered species, the bee, the pollinator of plants that we eat to exist
According to Friends of the Earth -
Since 1900, the UK has lost 13 species of bee, and a further 35 are considered under threat of extinction. None are protected by law. Across Europe nearly 1 in 10 wild bee species face extinction.Causes of bee decline include habitat loss - less forage and shelter, climate change, pesticides, pests and disease, and invasive species.
Terrible about their decline
ReplyDeleteIt's so easy to miss how important insects are. Many people are afraid of spiders, but if there were no spiders, we would soon be extinct, too.

Wow! This is truly beautiful. You have such a great talent. Have a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteGreat sketsh. It is sad as bees are so good for our nature.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely painting. I adore bees-from a bit of a distance. I try to plant things they will love. We have a carpenter bee that eats into the underside of a bench-he makes saw dust! He's very cute and comes back every year- (or one just like him does).
