From Sketch to Fabric - Ladybirds

I started with ink drawings of ladybirds, flowers and leaves in my little sketchbook.

And a painted background.

The drawings were also painted.

And then everything was transferred to the computer, where I separated everything and made lots of layers in Photoshop. Then everything was arranged and rearranged until I was happy [enough] with the repeating pattern I had made.

I sent for a fabric sample from Spoonflower using their new fabric, Petal Signature Cotton. I altered the scale for the fabric because I wanted the bugs to look small so it would suit a small child.

Big Brother Saurus

The new baby's big brother who is 3 loves dinosaurs so I decorated this t-shirt for him.
I altered some clip art on the web so it was suitable for cutting on my KNK. I added the words and cut it from heat transfer vinyl then applied it to the t-shirt with a heat press.

Baby Quilt

I have an announcement, my daughter gave birth to a daughter the other day, my first Granddaughter.

I made a baby quilt but chose an easier way this time and bought a printed panel, so no applique or anything like that. The panel is called 'Counting Sheep'.

I've decided that I don't really like quilting so it may be the last one I do....until next time.

Snails

The last page in the handmade sketchbook and a couple of pages in a small 4" square book. I'll not say new book because it was used for the Inktober challenge.

Rabbits at Alnwick

These lovely trees and flowers were at Alnwick Gardens.
And there were lots of cherry trees in bloom.

Rabbit drawing practice.

Busy Bird

I drew this ink drawing in a large A3 sketchbook

then I chose a part of it

and painted it digitally on the computer

then I 'messed' about with it to make it it into a repeating pattern which could be used for fabric, gift wrap or wallpaper.
