This last year I have done a lot of art on the subject of houses. Most of it is wall art, but this piece is a paper doll made from house shapes which are collaged bits of paper - recycled art work etc and joined with washers.
Another C&G item, which was originally a bag, but the strap wore out and I changed it into a hanging. Inspired by Art Deco, it is thick pelmet vilene, painted and with lots of top coats of acrylic wax and varnish to give it a leather look. There are layers of other fabrics and it has beading, hand and machine embroidery.
This is another hanging done for C&G, inspired by Indian embroidery, but I have used CD's instead of shisha glass. It is made up of 19 CD's in total and is embellished with hand embroidery and beads.
I did this quite a few years ago during my city & guilds course.
Hand made felt with hand stitching. The head evolved from a strange bit of ugly felt, there was no plan to start with, but it 'screamed' at me, and I could see Edvard Munch's picture staring at me.
