50 Shades of White and Peacock Cushions

I've made up my fifty shades of white applique into a cushion

and also my white embroidered peacock is also a cushion.
Because it is white on white it doesn't show up very well so I messed about with the image just to try and make the embroidery stand out.

Badger Calendar 2016 Tea Towel

I had this tea towel printed at Print Me Pretty in the UK

The swatch on the left was from Spoonflower [US] and the other was from Print Me Pretty. Spoonflower's looks more vibrant on the basic cotton, I'm not sure if it would look the same printed on the linen.
The tea towel is available to purchase from either site, it comes as fabric so you have to hem it yourself.

Embroidery and Lace Pictures

I used little 6"x 4" canvases for these little pictures, collaged pages from a gardening book and used Liquitex Inks to colour.
I revisited Pintangle [Take a Stitch Tuesday] to remind myself how to to do some of the embroidery stitches I have done in the past. Sharon is showing how to do embroidery stitches again if you wish to join in.
Above - Raised herringbone band, running stitch.

Slipped detached chain stitch, cross stitch.

Fancy hem stitch, running stitch.

Up and down feather stitch, running stitch.
I shall include these on Simply Neutrals Tuesday, do pop along to see more.

Fabric Swatches UK

I thought I would try two fabric printing companies in the UK.
The top one was printed at Print me Pretty , the design is called 'colourexplosion'.

The other swatch was printed at Woven Monkey and is called Lindalou. My friend Linda was experimenting on my tablet and came up with a pretty pattern which I altered to make a repeating pattern for fabric.

Both designs can be purchased from the relevant companies.

40 Page Challenge 1-5

My friends and I started a new sketchbook challenge a few weeks ago, set by one of them. There is no time limit so if anybody would like to join in let me know.

I. Lid [watercolours]
2. Spiral [parallel pens]
3. Finch [parallel pen]
4. Pipe [pens]
5. Lines [parallel pens]
I went to London last Monday to help my daughter move house, she's expecting a baby next month so she needed it. But since I returned I've had a spot of bother with my hand especially when using the mouse [computer not furry], I'm finding it painful to use so I've not been blogging until now.
