I went to a workshop at a friends shortly before Christmas and we made little Christmas trees from fabric. The patchwork trees are stuffed with wadding, have dowelling for a trunk and empty thread reels are used to keep them upright. I used braid for extra decoration.
Fabric trees are so charming and there is absolutely no trouble with fallen needles, (I remember as a child how we had to help Mum sweep up drifts of fallen needles) or did you leave some sewing needles/pins in the wadding?
