Painted Skirt
Can anyone remember the skirt that I painted?
I used Inktense Blocks and Pencils and they claim to be permanent when dry. Well I claim to differ, they are not. I washed my skirt on the handwash mode with a delicate liquid in my washing machine and hey presto the flowers have faded. It does still have some washed out colour but all the fine details are gone. This is what it looks like now.
This is what it was like
I put in a lining a couple of weeks ago too.
I could buy some fabric pens and go over it or I could embroider it or leave it as it is, what do you think? My husband prefers the faded version.
It's come around again - it's Paint Party Friday
Lovely art including that skirt!
ReplyDeleteOh Wow! give me the burger please. LOL I love the spirals. The skirt is very pretty.
ReplyDeletePity that the colours faded, but I also like the delicate, faded colours. Have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteHi Lin :) I LOVE the new version of your skirt! The colours are so vibrant! Your art is beautiful, love the burger and fries!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThe flowers look better in bright colours, BUT the skirt looks more feminine and summerlike with the faded flowers. If I were to do anything, I'd do it after the next wash, to touch up the lines and some details. It's a beautiful summer skirt
ReplyDeleteThanks for your input Carin.
DeleteI might be disappointed if the colors faded that much in the skirt, but the faded version still does look nice.
ReplyDeleteShame the colours faded but it still looks good.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
