Friday Catch Up 08 12 2023

I don't know if anyone noticed that I hadn't posted for a couple of weeks - I've been away to Asia visiting Thailand [Bangkok], Cambodia and Vietnam. I'm sure I will have more things to show you from there soon. But today I have photos from the newly finished 1950's aged miners cottages at Beamish Museum. I don't seem to have a photo of the outside which I shall rectify next time I go.

Pull up a Seat Photo Challenge

I remember when I was young we had three blue birds on the wall.

At the same cottages as above.

This was taken in Bangkok Flower Market, my app says it is called dendrobium.

When I first saw this also in Bangkok I thought they were made of polystyrene but it is actually fish food for a festival. I have no art to share this week.

I have some memories of 50's things when I was a small girl.

  3. Vintage classics. They remind me of my great-aunt's house in upstate New York. She furnished it mostly in the 40s and 50s. My other great aunt made the crochet covers. She called it "fancy work".

  4. I bet that was a fabulous trip. And it's fun to see this 1950's cottage. It has bits that remind me of relatives home growing up. Have a great weekend.

  5. I love your tile floor in kitchen. Fish are bright, which I also like.

  6. Those new housing units are so quaint but must have been paradise at the time. I love the tidiness of the home. I wish mine were as tidy...
Dendrobium seems to grow like weeds in Thailand. Beautiful weed!

  8. What an exciting trip! Love the fish photo. And the miner's cottage looks like a lot of homes I remember from that era.
